The Liepaja Symphony Orchestra announces an open audition to several vacant positions:
DEPUTY CONCERTMASTER OF THE FIRST (I) VIOLIN SECTION
The audition will be held on 23 September 2025 at the "Great Amber" Concert Hall (8 Radio Street, Liepaja).
Requirements for the Contestants:
- Professional higher musical education in the viola specialty, or the Contestant may apply in the capacity of a student of a higher education establishment in the required specialty;
- The Contestant’s working experience in an orchestra shall be preferred;
- The Contestant’s ability to have his/her primary job at the LSO.
Main job duties:
- To prepare and play the orchestral pieces of the first (I) violin section at high artistic quality;
- To adhere to the work plans and structure, as well as other internal regulations of the LSO;
- To maintain and to improve his/her individual mastery throughout duration of the contract.

Monthly salary for full-time employment for the associate concertmaster: EUR 1500 before calculation of taxes specified in the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.

General Regulations for the Audition
The 1st round program:
- Optionally: the 1st movement of W.A. Mozart's violin concerto with cadenza:
No 3 in G major K.216;
No 4 in D major K.218;
No 5 in A major K.219.
- Optionally: one part of J.S. Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin.
The Contestant shall perform the first-round program from his/her sheet music material.
The 2nd round program

CLARINET GROUP MUSICIAN
The audition will be held on 23 September 2025 at the "Great Amber" Concert Hall (8 Radio Street, Liepaja).

- Professional higher musical education in the clarinet specialty, or the Contestant may apply in the capacity of a student of a higher education establishment in the required specialty;
- The Contestant’s working experience in an orchestra shall be preferred;
- The Contestant’s ability to have his/her primary job at the LSO.

- To prepare and play the orchestral pieces of the clarinet section at high artistic quality;
