The Japanese jazz phenomenon Hiromi — pianist and composer — will unite on stage for the first time with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and conductor Guntis Kuzma to spark a dynamic musical dialogue, where the freedom of jazz meets the power of symphonic majesty.
Hiromi is one of the brightest and most innovative contemporary jazz artists — her playing is characterized by explosive energy, virtuosic technique, and creative boldness that breaks down all genre barriers. She blends jazz, classical, progressive rock, fusion, and electronic music to create sounds that are both intellectually challenging and emotionally captivating. Each of Hiromi’s performances is like a personal story — lively, spontaneous, and deeply authentic.
At the Liepāja International Stars Festival, she will bring this story into a symphonic context, whose vast diversity and power enable uninhibited expression across a broad musical spectrum. Under the direction of conductor Guntis Kuzma, this will be a vibrant dialogue of contrasts, where classical form meets jazz improvisation in a fearless embrace.
