Honegger's Symphonie Liturgique and Dvořák's Cello Concerto
On September 19, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will open its 146th concert season at the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” with Guntis Kuzma at the conductor’s desk. The ambitious season-opening concert program will be crowned by the premiere of a newly created symphonic vision by Juris Karlsons.
Festival Opening in Lithuania together with the Vilnius Choir
On September 4, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Basilica of St. Archangel Michael in Marijampole, Lithuania, where, together with the Lithuanian State Choir "Vilnius", they will open the 6th International Classical Music Festival "Culture Days 2026".
The orchestra will perform at the Curonian Spit Music Festival
With a grand concert on August 14, at 7:00 PM on the open-air stage in Jodkrantė, Lithuania, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Guntis Kuzma, will close the 28th International Curonian Spit Chamber Music Festival.
Orchestra's new season with the world's leading cellists
On September 19, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will open its 146th concert season with German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, and on November 7, it will perform with Latvian cellist Margarita Balanas.
The orchestra will open the International Trombone Festival
Together with the most outstanding trombonists – Christian Lindberg, Sophie Rebecca Bright and Line Johannesen, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will open the International Trombone Festival in Riga on July 29.

On August 22, Liepāja Symphony Orchestra conductor and clarinetist Guntis Kuzma, together with violinist Elīna Bukša and pianist Agnesi Egliņa, will perform a delicate trio program.

This weekend – Friday, July 17, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” invites Liepaja residents and city guests to a free outdoor event “Open-Air Concrt Hall. Musical Picnic” in the square opposite the main entrance to the concert hall.

As part of the European Capital of Culture program “Liepāja 2027”, the Orchestra will present 3 events at the “Opera by the Sea” festival, where they will meet internationally recognized soloists and perform new works.
Intriguing percussion concerto at the end of the 145th season
The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 145th concert season with a special program on May 16. Andris Dzenītis' Southern Concerto for Metal Percussion and Orchestra will have its world premiere with Guntars Freibergs performing as the soloist.
Kairos / Chronos – Baltic Music Days 2026
This year's most ambitious contemporary music event in the Baltics - the festival "Baltic Music Days 2026" - will also be enriched by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra with a special, philosophical and musically rich program "Kairos / Chronos".

On February 13 at the Liepāja Concert Hall a sophisticated chamber music program will be offered at the festival by one of the most outstanding Polish ensembles – cellist Bartosz Koziak and pianist Krzysztof Książek.
Star Festival to open with world-renowned stars
The 34th Liepāja International Stars Festival will open with a symphonic music concert, in which the Orchestra, will perform together with Japanese violinist Yuki Hirano, as well as Belgian clarinetist Annelien van Wauwe.
The Orchestra among the nominees for the Great Music Award
The nominees for the 2025 Great Music Award and the recipients of the lifetime achievement award were announced at a press conference on January 14. The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra was also among the nominees.
3 recordings nominated for the Golden Microphone
The nominees for the Latvian music recording award "Golden Microphone 2026" have just been announced at a ceremonial event. Three nominations also go to the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra.
Zariņš will return to the Stars Festival with a solo concert
One of Latvia’s most brilliant pianists Reinis Zariņš will return to the Liepāja International Stars Festival with a deeply personal program - Rihards Dubra’s monumental piano work “Visions of the Way of the Cross. Light”.
